What is Business Continuity Plan

Business Continuity Plan is a strategic document that determines protocols for employees and business executives for ensuring business stability and consistent functioning in any conditions, especially including emergency situations or other risks for business. Business continuity plan has two main purposes – provide guidelines for threat prevention, or if it is impossible, for threat resolution.

Business Continuity Plan is often spelled as BCP acronym. The main purpose of business continuity plan is to ensure safety and proper functiong of staff and assets in the case of emergency or any other threat occured, so business continuity plan includes all potential threats without any connection to their nature. It includes natural threats, technical issues, human factor, and so on. Business continuity plan is segmented, so different departments or specialists have to take only those steps that are considered required from them personally.
