What is Dashboard

Dashboard is a type of report, which is designed as an image that contains different information, including Key Performance Indicators, graphs, diagrams, charts, and so on. Dashboards are often customizable, so it means you can edit them to contain the information you need.

Dashboard’s main purpose is to provide information about different aspects of your business in single interface to help you analyze performance metrics, productivity rates and monitor the quality and efficiency of work of your team. Dashboard isn’t synonymous with report, because report can be provided as text message, sheet, or graph, while dashboard always contains numerous metrics and provide information in different forms. Main difference between dashboard and report is that dashboard permanently updates and provides data in real-time mode, while report provides data limited by a time frame and often relies on human factor – because people are those who form reports in most cases, if those reports aren’t generated automatically.
